Our four-year-old curriculum includes the Weekly Reader and a workbook expressly designed for this age level. Alphabet and number recognition and practice, science, health, cooking, videos on safety, good manners, and social behavior are incorporated in our program. We also take planned trips to broaden the child's view and create awareness of the world around him.
- Creative Work Period
Children learn to work with all forms of art media. They enjoy painting, working with clay, and learning to use scissors. These activities stimulate the imagination fostering imagination and free expression to develop visual motor coordination.
- Dramatic Play
Our completely equipped housekeeping corner, plus a variety of costumes for role-playing, provide opportunities for creating scenes and situations in which manners, safety rules, telephone technique, behavior at home and in public, come into reality. - Music and Rhythms
A wide variety of nursery rhymes, folk, and action songs become part of the children's repetoirs. Rhythm instruments, marching, and interpretive dancing contribute to truly joyous experiences in music. A professional music teacher enriches the program weekly. - Snack Period
There is a mid-morning and afternoon snack. Juice and crackers are served by the children who take turns as host and hostesses.
- Outdoor Play
In favorable weather the children enjoy playing on the outdoor equipment which fosters the development of large muscle coordination and encourages physical fitness. Nature walks in our woods provide collections for our science table. - Storytime
