Our Goal Is
To emphasize individual growth, development and achievement, each camper will be encouraged and supported to reach his or her
greatest potential.
This will be done through providing campers with a variety of enjoyable and safe experiences. They will include:
- Sports with a special emphasis on Swimming
- A Varied Arts and Crafts Program
- Nature Studies and Performing Arts
- Theme Weeks
Staff
Featherbed Lane has at least three counselors for each group. Senior
Counselors for each group have a teaching background, junior counselors are high school or college students and C.I.T's are age 13
and over and will work with your child's development on all camp related activities.
Activities
In addition to the well-equipped playground, we have two large play fields and a spacious wooded area for the campers to enjoy
their activities. Activities include a wide variety of arts and crafts, singing, dancing and dramatics which are highlighted with
a camp show on the last day of each four week session. Softball, tetherball, volleyball and relay races are very popular. Children
enjoy our special theme days and special camp-wide activities. Each activity Is well supervised and geared for each group's
abilities and preferences. In addition there are nature walks, cook-outs and swimming.
Swimming
Special emphasis is placed on the swimming progress of our campers in our two in-ground swimming pools designed
specifically for our excellent swimming program. The pool for the younger children is heated to eliminate the cries of "It's
too cold" on one of the inevitable "less than hot" days.
Each pool is staffed by a senior instructor and a junior instructor possessing appropriate certificates. Group counselors also accompany the children when they swim, which in most cases allows for a ratio of one counselor to four campers. On the third Friday of each camp session, there will be a swim show so our parents can see the progress their children have made. The children have two swim periods each day, one a lesson and one a free swim.

Your child's Camp Director is responsible for the placement of your child in the group where he/she will receive the most
benefit from camp activities and/or where there are available enrollment vacancies. The groups listed above may change due to
enrollment trends.
Clothing
Children need to bring in two bathing suits and two towels every day in a beach bag. Children wear clothes to suit the weather. Campers in the 7-10 age groups will need to bring baseball
gloves to camp. Please mark all clothing and towels, etc. with your child's name. We accept NO responsibility for articles lost
during the camp period. Children should wear sneakers to camp. "Due to safety issues/concerns, campers must wear sneakers in order to participate in camp activities".
**Please send swim suits even though it is raining in the morning. **
Healthcare
Medical insurance covering injuries and/or accidents has been included in tuition payment. A complete updated immunization
record and a physical examination by a physician is required by the New Jersey Department of Health. This form must be submitted
to the camp office prior to June 1, 2008. Any camper who does not have an updated physical exam form
will be excluded from camp until it is received. This can be submitted separately so do not withhold your application until the
medical form is complete. Any child requiring medication (prescription or non-prescription) at camp, must have a "Request for
Administration of Medication" form completely filled out and signed by the parent and physician. Forms can be obtained in the
office. There will be a full time nurse on duty each day for the safety of your child.
Lunches
Campers will be required to bring their own lunch four days a week. We will supply milk, ice pops, and cold drinks each day.
We also supply the hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls, etc, for cook-outs. Each group will "cook-out" one day a week. Your
camper will be assigned the same cook-out day every week, rain or shine. Send no lunch on that day. All lunches must be clearly
marked with your child's name and group. WE REQUEST THAT CHILDREN DO NOT BRING LUNCH BOXES TO CAMP AS COOLING SPACE IS LIMITED.
Special Care
Naps will be given to the Twigs group. They must bring a crib sheet and an extra change of clothes with them. Adequate rest periods will be provided to all campers.
For the first three
days of camp please have an identification tag plainly visible and firmly attached to your child's clothing which lists: name,
address and camper's group.
At some time during each four week period the Eagle Group and the Senior Group will have a late night
stay at camp until 10:00 P.M. Parents will be obligated to pick up these campers at this time. More information regarding this fun
activity will be distributed during the camp session.
